PERRYSBURG, Ohio – Two amendments to current ordinances regarding sexually oriented businesses were approved unanimously at Tuesday evening’s council meeting.
Council member and chairman of the Planning and Zoning Committee Tim McCarthy, discussing the committee’s May 26 meeting, noted that the most substantial alteration to the ordinances was the change in the definition of an “adult oriented store” as, among other things, a commercial establishment devoting over 10 percent “of its interior business to the sale, rental or viewing of any adult materials.” In the previous special approval use ordinance, the threshold had been 50 percent.
