Senator Edward Kennedy has been laid to rest by the light of his brother John’s eternal flame. In the darkening summer evening, the Massachusetts Democrat was buried alongside the late president and other brother Robert at Arlington National Cemetery. Earlier at Saturday’s funeral service in Boston, President Barack Obama said Kennedy “was given a gift of time that his brothers were not.” and, he says Kennedy used that time to “right as many wrongs as the years would allow.”
New information in the investigation of a California couple charged with kidnapping a girl 18 years ago. Police are now searching a property next door to Nancy and Phillip Garrido’s home. Police have been looking for evidence linking the Garrido’s to other open cases in the area, including the unsolved murders of prostitutes. Authorities are calling the neighboring house a crime scene, but decline to elaborate at this time.
