They notified the Toledo police, who obtained information that led Atlantic County investigators to travel there. The results of that investigation gave First Assistant Prosecutor Murray Talasnik enough evidence to present to a grand jury, which indicted Colvin on Thursday for strangling White.
Colvin already is serving a life sentence in the Toledo Correctional Institution for killing six women.
A long-haul truck driver, he was on trial in 2006 for the killings of Melissa Weber and Jackie Simpson when he admitted to those two killings and three others in an attempt to avoid the death penalty. He later admitted to involvement in a sixth death.
All the women were strangled and reportedly working as prostitutes to feed their drug addictions. It was not clear whether White – who did have a lethal amount of cocaine in her system – was also working in prostitution.
