A Washtenaw County sheriff’s deputy was arraigned Monday in Lenawee County District Court on charges he propositioned a massage therapist in Adrian for sex on Jan. 27.
Chad Jeremy Beaudin, a 15-year veteran of the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department, has denied allegations made by a therapist at Defined Wellness, 1542 West Maple Ave. Beaudin has been on unpaid leave from his road patrol position since Thursday, said department spokesman Derrick Jackson. The suspension was ordered during an internal investigation, he said.
A felony charge of aggravated indecent exposure and a charge of soliciting prostitution were authorized by the Lenawee County prosecutor’s office after an investigation by an Adrian police detective. Beaudin, 38, faces up to a two-year prison term if convicted.
He remains free on a personal recognizance bond pending a preliminary examination set for March 29.
